Extended Care (Willows) Part-Time Job Opening
Position Title: Extended Care Staff
Reports To: School Principal
Position Summary
The Extended Care Staff member is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for students participating in before-school and/or after-school care programs. This position supports the academic, social, emotional, and physical well-being of students while maintaining positive communication with families and school staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise students during after-school extended care hours.
Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students.
Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, games, & homework time
Monitor student behavior and implement school discipline policies consistently and respectfully.
Ensure students are signed in and signed out according to school procedures.
Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding student needs or concerns.
Maintain accurate incident records.
Assist students with homework and provide academic support when appropriate.
Distribute snacks and ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation procedures are followed.
Administer basic first aid when necessary and report injuries or incidents to administration promptly.
Set up, organize, and clean program areas daily.
Follow all school safety protocols, including emergency procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
Qualifications
High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or recreation setting preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to supervise groups of children effectively and maintain appropriate classroom management.
Dependable, organized, patient, and flexible.
Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and families.
CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
Must complete all required background checks, fingerprinting, and safe environment training.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and actively supervise children for extended periods of time.
Ability to participate in indoor and outdoor activities.
Work Schedule
Typical hours are from 2:45 pm to 6:00 pm (or whenever the last student is picked up). On Minimum Days, it’s 12:00- 6:00 pm (or whenever the last student is picked up).

Part-Time Preschool Teacher Job Description
Position Summary:
The Preschool Teaching Position gives support to other staff working in the preschool. He/She works under the supervision of the lead teacher in managing a classroom of children who are five years or younger. They instruct and supervise students in social and developmental activities, help them while eating, and generally provide one-on-one attention when needed. He /She also works as a team member and the liaison between the parents and other Preschool staff. The part-time position is Monday through Friday for 4.5 hours a day.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Interact with children.
Assist Preschool Director in maintaining records on each child’s progress and development for the purpose of planning, preparing snacks, teaching children about numbers, colors and shapes.
Responsible for assisting with the full implementation of performance standards, policies and procedures, regulations and guidelines in the day-to-day operation of an early childhood development including developmentally appropriate practices for a preschool program.
Participate in staff meetings and staff development.
Assist Preschool Director in reviewing the progress of each child and developing written plans to promote each child’s growth and development.
Maintain a well-organized, safe and attractive classroom environment conducive to the optimal growth and development of children including group work and helping to guide students through Centers.
Develop a positive relationship with each child and promote the development of self-esteem and self-discipline.
Assist Preschool Director in planning and implementing the daily program of activities based on principles of child development and in accordance with the program’s curriculum and child’s well-being.
Observe each child daily to assess skills, interests, and needs and use this information to facilitate learning and growth.
Establish a positive relationship with each child’s family and share information about the child’s day.
If requested, assist the Preschool Director in conducting parent conferences.
Responsible for assisting the Preschool Director in implementing parent involvement activities.
Assist with maintaining order and cleanliness of furniture, floors, toys and manipulatives, including disinfestation of objects
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements/Qualifications:
An Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is required. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
Possess or be eligible to obtain a valid California Commission on Teacher Credentialing permit as a Child Development Teacher.
